Acceptable forms of photo ID
- Texas driver license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
- Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
- Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
- Texas handgun license issued by DPS
- United States military identification card with photo
- United States citizenship certificate with photo
- United States passport (book or card)
Don't Have One of These IDs?
If you do not have one of these photo IDs and cannot reasonably get one, Texas offers another way. You can show a supporting form of identification — such as a voter registration certificate, birth certificate, current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or government document with your name and address — and complete a Reasonable Impediment Declaration at the polling place explaining why you could not get a photo ID.
